Does Tacas A320's out of JFK have an extra fuel tank and if it does do they put caps on pax and baggage. Thanks in advance.

why would they need extra tanks? JFK - SAL is 1815nm according to Great circle mapper.... well below the range of an A320.

Reason behind my question is that someone had brought up that they have an extra tank so I just wanted to know if it was true.
