This French-language article, in Montreal's LaPresse, suggests the Russian government is deliberately dragging its feet on certifying the CRJ900 for use in Russia by Tatarstan Airways - and potentially others - because it wants to protect the market for the competing aircraft types from Sukhoi. Tatarstan has already had two CRJ900s delivered (out of an order of 6 worth a potential $217 million) and has had to sublet to a carrier in the Gulf. The article alleges that all smaller Bombardier aircraft, jets and props, have had no problem getting certification.
