Iberia and LanChile, both oneworld members, have expanded their codeshares between their main international gateways, and some other cities beyond as well. The agreement covers Madrid - Santiago, plus Chilean services from Santiago to Punta Arenas, Puerto Montt, Concepcion and Antofagasta as well as Mendoza in Argentina. Iberia flights are Madrid - London and from Madrid to Paris, Milan, Rome, Amsterdam, Bilbao and Barcelona.

Madrid - Santiago has been a success and will be increased to four daily flights, two operated by LA and two by IB, but with one LA flight going via Sao Paulo in Brazil.

Do you think LAN may join oneworld as I believe they have codeshare agreements with BA on Santiago-Buenos Aires? Do they have any other agreements with AA or QF or anyone?

Hi:

Regarding flights from Madrid to other european airports, I can see in the GDS that these flights are the only offered:

MAD-LHR is sold as LA 5710 (Iberia B757)
MAD-ORY is sold as LA 5706 (Iberia B757)
MAD-BCN is sold as LA 5730 (Iberia A320)
MAD-BIO is sold as LA 5740 (Iberia A320) and LA 5738 (Iberia B757)

What happens with Madrid-Milan, Madrid-Rome and Madrid-Amsterdam. Do they appear in your GDS? What flight numbers do they have?

Also, do you have any info about the date when LA will begin a second daily flight to Europe? I do not think it can be soon - at least with A340 - as they have only two aircraft for the once daily flight to Madrid. Maybe with B767-300's!

Cheers,

Robert.

Robert,

Looks like it hasn't been updated yet. Which CRS do you use? I have Amadeus. Are you an airline employee or an travel agent?

According to my info, this was supposed to start 01JAN, but I guess it didn't.

Regarding the new LA flt, my info just say "during 2001". I've checked the timetable display, but there is nothing (new) in there yet. The news come from a very reliable source, so I do believe it's planned.

Hi,

The GDS is SABRE! So it's not updated! A bad service from SABRE! What flights numbers are for MAD-AMS/MIL/ROM in Amadeus?

I am an airline employee in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Cheers,

Robert.

Don't go kick Sabre butt just yet; Amadeus is not updated yet either, which probably means that these codeshares doesn't exist yet. But as I said, the source is good, so it's probably just a matter of time.

THIS JUST IN:
OK, more LA codeshare news. From 14FEB01, LA will have it's codeshare with AA on the LAX - DFW route (operated by AA of course). They already have one on the SCLDFW route (AA op) and one SCLLAX (LA op). Don't know the flt numbers. Check the following link for more:
