I just read in the current Flight International Magazine that the first A380 will be the -800, formerly known as the -100. The A380F would be the -800F. A possible stretch (-200) would be named the -900, and a shrink (-50) the -700. What is the Idea behind these names, I cannot see any sense. Could it be false Information?

All aircrafts types don't have to start with the -100 extension. I think it sounds good with the -800 extension because it fits well to A380!!
And if they will build a smaller type of the A380 it hadn't be nice with A380-50 or something like that...it's better with -700 then!!!
