I guess so. Should we expect SFO/LAX-MIA and SFO/JFK-SAN? Some very competitive routes, btw.

Most people on a.net hate JetBlue. Get used to it.

The San Diego Manager's position has been posted since mid-August (and was reported here on A.net at the time.) SAN Supervisor was then added at the end of August. No further confirmed activity at the airport or on the VX site as to expected start-up date or routes from Lindbergh; I am still hopeful that it will be before 2008.
MIA certainly wouldn't be a surprise as a VX station, especially if they can get it started no later than Spring. (I would, of course, love to see Virgin actually connect SAN and MIA since nobody else has gotten around to it yet. )

I'm waiting for the ORD announcement. Also heard a rumor that MDW could be possible alternative to ORD. Something about a deal worked out for ATA's 2 remaining gates at MDW.

No gates.

From where would TZ operate? Or are you suggesting that they are leaving MDW?

According to a recent interview with Johnny Jet, sounds like Sir Richard has a interest in HNL next, with a casual mention of "The Virgin Islands".

While VX would be looking at interesting ETOPS challenges to HNL, STT and other caribbean beach destinations might be in the works ex JFK, and assuming MIA if/when the station opens. I'd look for 1Xweek service (saturday) to the caribbean to start on days the business domestic markets traditionally slow down.

I would love to see a Virgin Islands based in the Caribbean. As for inter-island in Hawaii, I think Virgin should stay away.

They would use WN gates like they have been doing for some of the DFW flights. B 21 to be exact.

I think Sir Richard is looking at HNL service, not inter-island. As for Virgin Islands service I would guess it would be MIA-STT or perhaps MIA-STX. This would be closer to his BVI home (he jokingly mentioned he would like to only fly on Virgin flights to places he visits).
Hmmm "Virgin" Islands Airlines.... Hmm, maybe Bok269 is on to something.....

Concourse G will be virtually empty in two months, with just AirTran and Northwest.
How does it stack up when compared to the rest of the airport, renovated and "original"?
A piece of garbage terminal, especially when compared with the new Terminal J. That being said, it is isn't any cheaper to operate there than to fly into any other terminal. Every gate cost the same, and there is plenty of gate room for Virgin America in the beautiful new Concourse J, although they might have to put check-in counters at another Concourse (not a big deal, since all of MIA is within one building).
