Terminals 1 through 3 are connected airside.

Decent. I prefer Concourse L, because you get a better view of Terminal 5 that way (and a little bit more diversity), but going out to the end of H or K isn't bad either. I think the ends of F and L are probably the best places to spot in the domestic terminals.

By "bins" I assume you mean binoculars, which should not be a problem for you. The only time I have been yelled at at ORD was when I took this picture:

You'll get a view about like this:

Another good spot to hang out is in between the K and L concourses, where you also get a good view of terminal 5. It looks like this:

The thing I like about ORD is that each terminal is different and unique in its own way, much opposed to ATL, DEN... Here are a few pics of the different terminals at ORD:

I'm assuming this will be your first time to ORD and I hope you really enjoy it. Although it may not be as modern or user friendly as the likes of others, ORD has a special place in my heart, and I always look forward to flying through.

By "bins" I assume that you mean binoculars, and the answer is no--the only time I have ever been bothered at ORD is when I took this picture of "security" It is actually just the check-in in terminal 5, but the security guy in the pic ran over to me and told me to stop. Airside, though, I have never been bothered. Here is the pic I got yelled at for:

In case you are wondering I spoke to the Chicago Police at ORD and they assured me that it is NOT against the law to snap pictures of the airport or airplanes from inside the terminals. Even though there are some passengers that get suspicious. So take lots of pictures. There are alot of great spots in all of the concourses in terminals 1, 2 and 3. The AA
and DL terminal 3 is probably the best.

Yeah they notice now that it is not illegal I took pictures from Terminal 2 and had one officer pass by me without saying anything to me, I smiled at her and she said hi but no other problems.
