While the headline makes it sound bad for DL/ASA.... take a look at how they were performing last fall and you will notice a MASSIVE MASSIVE MASSIVE improvement... so cut them some slack (comming from someone who preferrs to avoid DL connection)

This is the only real surprise to me - what is it about this particular flight that made it late 96.43% of the time?

Everything else would be as I predicted it - ATL, ORD, and EWR hub flights hopelessly and repeatedly delayed.

Its really interesting how OO distances its self with the public to avoid association with ASA, even though they own them 100%. Many thought when OO bought ASA things would really improve. It apparantly has not.

It's an RON, too.

And we all know what ASA stands for: Almost Scheduled Airline.

That is odd, especially if it is an RON...maybe it gets delayed thru the day in a place like SFO and by the end of the day is chronically late...it might also be the block time is too short

Skywest 4020 currently operates YYZ-SLC-MEM with a CR9. According to FlightAware, 4020 in August was YYZ-SLC, not SLC-MEM.

Those were my thoughts too, and as long as it pushes back from the gate - and we're not talking about actually taking off - within 15 minutes, it's on-time. That might explain why an SFO departure isn't shown as chronically late, but the ongoing portion is, such as SLC-BNA.

Block time, though, wouldn't show up as "late" - that's only if the plane leaves on time. Heck, OO could schedule the flight as 15 minutes long and it would show up late at BNA 100% of the time - but it would be counted as ON TIME because it left "on time".

SkyWest people, can anyone elaborate on why this flight in particular is so chronically tardy?

My guess is it's because it's one of the first flights of the 7 o clock bank so it would be late for either bags or pax or a late inbound plane. And I think during the summer it was coming from YYZ and it pulled into C1 every night. It came from YYZ late almost every night.

And during August the MEM only went on Fri/Sat...I think.

But looking at all the airlines we are only number 6 for the past year. That's not so bad. 74.6%...above average for all the airlines.

I was wrong. MEM was almost daily. A few days it didn't operate. And I must confess that we are really bad at baggage. We were near the bottom. But I was reading that PDF up there and we are up pretty high on everything else.

Oh and I was really impressed with SLC. 80% on time arrivals and 83.5% on time departures. The only major airport that did better was IAH! Good job SLC!!!

Oh and 8052 arrivals into SLC on OO with a 81.7 ontime arrival!! That's an impressive amount of arrivals. Only DL and EV in ATL, UA in ORD, CO into IAH and AA and MQ into DFW had more arrivals.

14 of the top 25 most delayed flights were EV. And only 4 of the flights over 80% delayed were OO.

Just to tell y'all how good of an airline we are!!!

My wife and I flew DL from DTW to MCO in Sept. and I just got back from flying on DL from DTW to MBJ and back and we where never late. In fact most if not all of our flights arrived early. With going thru ATL that is darn good.

The awesome folks at SLC really rock it out. Between being a well set-up airport, and having really dedicated people, I think SLC is the best-run hub I've ever been through, and definitely my all-time favorite airport to connect at.

It came from YYZ late almost every night.

A lot of it has to do with the crew having to go through immigration (and back) becuase the flight to YYZ is usually early, and the schedulers at DL thought it would be best to plan it for a minimum turn time, which leaves little buffer for anything.

I was always partial to Always Stuck in Atlanta myself... when I worked for OH we used to get our EV RON aircraft 2 and 3 hours late... on top of that, with no luggage... it's a little hard to explain to passengers how 3 extra hours on the ground still made EV unable to get your bag to you...

America's Shi**iest Airline comes to mind too... haha...
