Quoting Rcardinale (Reply 1): WOW where did that ontime performance number come from!
September is traditionally a "slow" travel period, and many airlines (B6 included) reduce their schedules accordingly. It definitely helps with traffic delays. Additionally, JFK in particular has been using both 31L and 4L for departures during certain times, with 31L departures occuring just past the intersection. I've noticed this month that most times I flew we were either ontime or early. Once in a while there would be a half-hour backup - and that was only during peak departure times (international rush hour).
