Air Tanzania New Image

Following the parting of the ways with South African Airways, Air Tanzania has developed a new image.

It is based on a stylised "A" with a displaced stroke to make a "T" also, shaped like the snow-capped peak of Mount Kilimanjaro, all within an oval shape.

It can be seen on the Air Tanzania website (www.airtanzania.com). In fact, that's about ALL that can be seen on the website, as it is being upgraded to reflect the new image.

I don't know...

At first, I had the idea that it could be a livery for a japanese airline...the A and the T looks like a stroke of japanese caligraphy...and the mountain like the mount Fuji!

I have to wait and see it on an airplane.

Hmmm. Better than the old image for sure but it's rather lame compared to - say - the Kenya Airways rebranding. Still, I suspect the budget was pretty limited.

As for snow on the top of Kili, there's not much on the real one these days.  Sad

Fingers crossed for ATC.

Yeah, it looked quite Asian to me too. Apparently they will keep the traditional giraffe, which is a good thing.

Let's see how it looks when applied to an aircraft.

Actually it looks a bit like a ripoff of the new Kenya Airways logo, with the stylised 'K' in the circle.

Doesn't really strike you as Africa. I mean, a snow capped mountain/leter 'A'?

So much potential. SIGH!

Well, the snow-capped mountain is the Kilimanjaro, Africa's highest mountain, which is in Tanzania, so it makes some sense. The A, however, I don't like either.

Marambio

any chance of Air Tanzania going long haul and opening a route to LGW. I remember their 767 service. The country is increasing in popularity with tourists so it would be a good opportunity, I reckon.

Meh... better than the last one perhaps, but I still miss the yellow and blue with the giraffe...

Baaaaaad! Very amateurish! Pity that a country with so many natural beauties backed by pristine wildlife could not find something more appealing. Sure Kilimanjaro is impressive, but this logo looks like it is for an ice-cream company - designed by a 10 year-old.

The airplane looks good. in my opinion, they should remove the "AT", it looks unnecesary.
