I was looking through schedules and I noticed that during the Fall, that SBN get 3 DC9s from NW on Saturdays and 5 DC9s on Sundays. The loads are looking healthy and can support it. This looks more like a pre 9/11 schedule, but does Notre Dame really pull in that much capacity? I'm really suprised that the 9s are flying in on Saturday and not on Friday before the home games. Too bad SBN couldn't support these loads year round, those mainline employees would still be around and not outsourced to ATS or Worldwide Flight or what ever lower cost company NW decided to go with.

In SBN, NW went with Air Wisconsin for ground handling. I used to work there, but for the United Express operation. And yes, Notre Dame football season brings in LOTS of commercial passengers and just as many private jets. The general aviation ramp on ND game days is quite the sight!
