Hello all,
Trying to give my memory a jolt, I'm wondering if anyone could be of help - I'm trying to figure out the equipment that United used at LHR in 1996, specifically on UA954 from SFO on July 8th, and UA921 to IAD on July 25. I'm assuming UA still had their (at the time) new 777 on the route to IAD, as that was the inaugural route in June of 1995. The only thing I have to go on for the SFO flight is a blurry picture of a 747-400 I took as a child on the trip, but I'm not sure if it was the specific aircraft I flew on or not.
Any help would be much appreciated, as I have exhausted all other means that I know of.

I'm guessing it would either be a 747 or a 767. At that time, UA had mostly pulled the 747 classics and DC10s from international routes. There were only a few 777s operating out of IAD and ORD to LHR and FRA.
If you have never designed an airplane part before, let the real designers do the work!

The 9 July timetable shows a 767 on 954 and a 777 on 921.
This site has a fairly comprehensive listing of all flights to and from LHR and LGW for recent years and even lists some flights from more than thirty years ago.
You will need the archived section for all data older than two months.

VV701 - Thank you so much! That an absolutely incredible find, and very much appreciated. I know that in the US the Bureau of Transportation has a similar website for domestic flights, but I've been unable, up to this point, to find any sort of international data.

EWR (1 daily, 777)
IAD (3 daily, 767, 777)
LAX (1 daily, 777)
SFO (2 daily, 747, 767)
DEL (1 daily, 767)
ORD (2 daily, 767)
