Just looked at the Condor website and noticed that YVR-FRA flights are going to increase to 3x weekly compared to 2x weekly last summer. More surprising is reading their summer 2008 press release (in German) and no mention of YYC as a summer 2008 destination.
On a similar note - Martinair is also increasing YVR flights to 3 per week (all non-stop) for the summer 2008 program.

All of the Alaska/Kanada flights have been loaded.
YVR - 3 x
ANC - 3 x
FAI - 1 x
YXY - 2 x
YHZ - 2 x
No YYC flights. Does seem rather strange though.
Perhaps YYC does not get as much tourist traffic as I thought.
In fact, lately I have noticed in the Australian newspapers that they are selling Canada as a #1 market. There is a TV show down here called Getaway and they have named Canada as the #1 travel destination for next year.
There have been HUGE page ads with tours - mainly in Western Canada. A lot of the tours are the Rocky Mountaineer/Alaska Cruise tours. Most of the tours they are selling are bypassing Calgary altogether, with the start/stop in Vancouver and looping up through Jasper and Banff and then cruising up to Alaska. I think I only saw 1 tour that included Calgary. I guess from Europe though, there is more of a 1-way option. Start in YVR and finish in YYC or vice-versa.
