Any updates on the status of these routes starting up?

Press release back in August mentioned starting flights to SFO and YVR by the end of the year or early 2008.

There was an article in Economic Times that AI was examining the possibility of launching BLR-SFO nonstop from May 2008 pending the delivery of more B 77Ls from Boeing.

As far as YVR is concerned, nothing has mentioned apart from interest shown by the airline. Though if launched, YVR should be flown from ATQ via DEL with the B 777-200LR three times a week only.

Btw fyi...from this month onwards, AI flies B 773ERs instead of B 744s to JFK i.e. AI 111-112 ATQ-DEL-LHR-JFK!

My post was in reference to this article posted by The Tribune from Chandigarh, India on 17 August 07.

The quote is from Anil Sabharwal, passenger sales manager of the airline.

“We have on our plans a flight from Srinagar to Dubai besides connecting Amritsar to both San Francisco and Vancouver by the end of this year or early next year. The frequency of the Amritsar-Birmingham-Toronto flight will also be increased from five to seven times a week. Other North American destinations in the future plans include Houston, Washington and Dallas,” reveals Sabharwal.

Wonder if he means Houston OR Dallas? Couldn't see them serving both cities but this has been talked about a lot.
