HAas anyhone thought about the combination of the two companies and thier thougths on the elimination of the TWA name... Obviously TWA is going to go the way of Pan Am & Eastern, but what are your thoughts on keeping part of their logo as a combination of the two... AA is in my opinon a need of a livery change, and I liked how boeing kept the MickyD logo and stuck it nexst to their name, how about the TWA globe with AA in the center or something like that....

That would be a nice idea. Only if somehow they could incorporate the eagle into the picture.

That is a pipe dream and wishful thinking. You better get as many pictures and TWA items as you can now because once they are gone, that's it.

In my opinion I would love to see American keep the TWA paint job going and somehow maybe make a few modifications to allow the AA eagle and name somehow. Personally the AA paint job looks good, but after how many decades of the same old thing? gets kinda old. Im still trying to get over the loss of such a great airline. Good thing I have lots of TWA memoribilia such as
real TWA pilot wings and hat, safety cards for MD-80 and 727, Ambassador magazine, and atleast 100 boarding passes that I have saved up.
Farewell TWA

I for one am going to hate to see TWA GO. American is going to totally ruin it. And they say that they are going to keep 20000 employees of Twa? I don't think so. Canadain Said that about Ward air's employees and got rid of most of them when a couple of years went by
TWA will be missed by pretty much everyone I think. It was the last pioneer left from the greater days.

Maybe AA and TWA could form a new name.
Trans World American Airlines.

But I think it is a shame companies are starting to buy out the market. In a few years we only have a handfull of airlines left. That is not a fair competition.

How about a mural of a flock of retarded doomed eagles flying into the turbo fan if a TWA jet? And then being mercilessly spewn out the other side in a flurry of birdy guts? American Airlines should put that on all the TWA jets aquired to show the customers how TWA (or at least how I) really feel(s) about the "merger". None of this, "bittersweet" and "happy and sad day" crap. Corperate takeover meets quaint southern airline that can't earn profits. 'Snot a surprise if you ask me, but I am deeply sad to see it go. I'm one of the few people I know who liked TWA. It was something different now and then... In MSP it's either Northwest, Northwest (I know I said that twice) or American. TWA was always there when I got bored with it all. It's too bad really.

Perhaps, after all it's for the best. TWA was suffering from financial anguish, and they needed a way out. This way, the airline can live on in our hearts (Eew! Too sapy...sorry) and finally die in peace. Okay, so I'm not the best at metaphors....

Here is sort of a combination of the two airlines paint schemes. Its mainly TWA's colors, although I may work on one in which its nearly an equal half and half later.

I think this scheme is a good look for AA but doesn't forget TWA. Enjoy.

RyeFly, first one looks really nice, but the second's gotta go. No offence, just an honest opinion.

Didn't Pan Am's creditors (the first set) *sell* the name and logo for quite a chunk of change? AMR will undoubtedly do that with TWA. I just hope we don't see a TW2 and TW3 flying strange routes.

RyeFly, I must say, the TWA/AA scheme looks fabulous! I really hope that AA will hold on to the rights to the TWA name and logo, and hopefully incorporate it on something. Trans American World Airlines, now that sounds cool!

It would be good if American could work in something into their scheme to take account of TWA, although I know there is little chance for this to happen.

Thanks for your comments. I also favor the TWA scheme although I don't think we will see it last very long. Its too bad. By the way Watewate, I replaced the old fantasy scheme with a new one after disapointing results in the polls. Hopefully this one will get some better marks.
