Far Eastern Air Transport and TransAsia Airways are given permission to fly charters into Japan and may start as early as the start of next month. This would give all 6 airlines of Taiwan the right to fly into Japan.
Airlines in Taiwan are also given permission to fly to any American city via Osaka.

This is how backwards the Ministry of Transport in Japan is.
Both FAT & TranAsia have been in business for decades, have good safety records, and finally they get the right to fly to Japan.
Yet when it comes to safety such as having fire trucks within the alloted standard int'l time to arrive at a scene of an accident, they aren't up to spec. (eg. the recent Naha CI 738 burn-up)
Would be nice to have BR start something like TPE-KIX-LAX or better yet TPE-KIX-ORD.
