VARIG's server can't handle the traffic. What a nightmare! I guess it will stay like this until tomorrow, since the ad that will be aired later tonight on Jornal Nacional will make more people try to have a look.

The roll-on of the first plane (a 737-800 with winglets) with new livery took place today at GIG. Later on some friends that attend the presentation will release some pictures from this plane.

So there is nothing orange like GOL. They kept the blue, changed the font, ... really like the new 3D compass.. very sleak I think.. can't wait to see the aircraft.

I finally was able to open the website, but it was still the old one... I guess their server is really having problems to handle all this traffic..

Looks like GOL have decided that a corporate look is the way to go. I like the tail even though the picture is small, I am please they haven't ditched the compass entirely, I would have prefered to see a more billboard Varig on the side theres a lot of white and replacing the word Brasil with that small flag is well kinda weak, like sampa737 I liked the scripty gold Brasil of the previous livrey, why didn't they do it in orange. I will hold my final jugement on the livery until some pics are posted, but the checkin looks good and I have a feeling GOL are going to pull the recovery off !

Just a small preview:

The thing is that it is being said that that is not the finished scheme. Actually, only one side of the aircraft was done for the official presentation, since it was done in a hurry. Look how the same aircraft looked like yesterday:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v444/kadudidario/PR-VBE.jpg
Thanks to Coronado from Contato Radar for the picture of PR-VBE.

Rumour has it that not only the livery is not finished on this 738, but every new aircraft will bare the compass on another part of the tail.

To be 100% Honest...

I DON'T LIKE IT !

Looks cheap.

I know they are going for something simple, but that is WAY too simple. I wish they would have put a logo on the side of the aircraft or something. Even G3 scheme looks hotter !

Big Bummer !!!

I think that a bigger "Varig" on the fuselage as well as painted engines, in blue with the fading lines (as the tail) would make it 100% better, and wouldn't cost that much either!

It would look nice for a start-up and it is not as bad as I was expecting, but it comes nowhere near the glorious VARIG of the old days... it is a sad day for aviation and one more glorious airline gone down the drain  Sad R.I.P. good old Varig and welcome new days.

While I still think the plane looks way too euro-white, the tail is truely something to admire. The addition of a light-grey belly and engines covers would solve the problem from where I'm standing.

The important thing is that we will see Varig planes flying in the skyes again!

Cheers,

Another cheap white fusulage. And if I didn't know any better, I'd think the logo on the tail was supposed to be a flower or something, not a compass rose.
