I am flying via Sheremetyevo on Sunday. Arriving Terminal C with Aerosvit and departing Terminal 2 with Aeroflot. I have 2h 50 min to connect, so would be grateful if someone could advise if this is sufficient? Also, what is your recommendation on checking luggage through to the final destination if changing from Sheremetyevo 1 to 2? Is there a high chance of not retrieving it at the final point? Would it be better for me to check through Sheremetyevo 1, pick it up, go through customs and then check-in again in Sheremetyevo 2? What is the best way to connect between the two terminals?

I did a connection and it took a lot longer than I thought it would. I used all 2hrs 45min. Immigration took an hour and then it was difficult to find a way to get to the other terminal. I ended up getting a cab and getting slightly ripped off in the process. You'll be swamped with taxi drivers. They are pretty aggressive. I recommend that you investigate earlier so you know what is going on.
If you have never designed an airplane part before, let the real designers do the work!

Do you speak Russian? That will affect your trip a lot.
If you do, 2:50 is easy. If you don't, it'll be harder, but there should be a free bus from Sheremetyevo 1 (near Sheremetyevo C) to Sheremetyevo 2, about a 20 minute drive (has to drive around the field)
