Yesterday (28-10-2007) Sky Europe completed the transfer of all their operations from London Stansted to London Luton, the first to arrive into Luton was NE2122 from PRG aircraft was OM-NGL
Sky Europe will operate 4 routes from Luton...these are Bratislava, Prague, Kosice and Poprad-Tatry/Zakopane all operated by 737-700W

8herveg,
The reasons behind the transfer are probably cheaper landing fees and better slot availability - also, I'd watch what you say about LTN, I've seen much worse airports. Might I add that LTN is closer to London than STN.
Anyhow, a somewhat big day for LTN yesterday! Two new airlines in one day - BE to IOM and NE to BTS, PRG, KSC and TAT. Hopefully the flights will last and won't go the same way HLX & Volare. But AFAIK LTN still has some problems with the new terminal already too small etc and not enough security officials at immigration am I right...? Hopefully they can get back on track.

What the airport or the aircraft that land their? if your on about the airport its great for spotting,a lot better than LHR any day, at leased you can get good shots using a camara, not like LHR where everything is in the lens way, like the fence, lamp posts.

I know their are worst airpots but I'm comparing it to Stansted. And I know LTN is closer to London than STN, but I don't live in London...which is why I said STN is more convenient for me!

Hello EZYAirbus, long time no see... (Well, I mean on A.net, I see your ugly face on facebook daily )
Great to see SkyEurope land at LTN and base their London flights from here... Like other people comment, I hope they are successful and do not come and go! Saying that though, WizzAir have been very successful from LTN and is their largest operation outside of eastern Europe, so no reason why they cannot have the same success!
This must make LTN be one of the busiest LUK airports with flights to eastern Europe, and with the highest frequencies...
Not if you know the right places to spot! You can't get pictures like below at many other London Airport, or so close to the runway! Also the Police may come round to check everyone is behaving themselves, but you never feel intimidated or pressured to leave!

If you walk out of the terminal, and go down it's left hand side, (by the taxi rank) you can take all the pictures of the apron and taxi way that you want.

Quoting Gilesdavies (Reply 11): A reliable source (AKA EzyAirbus), advises me that an Air Slovakia 757-200 today substituted one of the SkyEurope 737-700's!
