Outside of FLL-Caribean flying, they cant seem to stick with something for more than 6 months, so im not suprised...
Experience is what you get when what you thought would work out didn't!

Actually, we were thinking they were discontinuing so they can use the a/c for a South America market. We actually haven't had a new a/c delivered in a while!!

Well, I called this one. It just didn't seem like a route which would last for the long term. Kudos for them trying it out, I guess.

Outside of FLL INTL flying, the list of what has stayed is much shorter than the list of what has gone (system wide)
After they left PVD, where they packed the planes in for FLL RSW (if you doubt it, look at Q1 O&D#'s)
They added:
ACY-SJU - gone
ACY-LAS - going
BOS-FLL n/s - pulled before it even started
BOS-DTW - gone
They walked away from full flights and replaced them with dismal failures, granted there will be a laprse in service, but hopefully a real airline like FL or B6 will recoup the low hanging fruit vacated in the PVD-South Florida market sometime in 2008.

I think BOS-FLL nonstop did operate for a few months, but it is indeed gone or going very soon. 1X BOS-MYR-FLL is all that remains of NK in new England right now...

DTW is somewhat of an enigma... DTW has lost PVD,BOS, and DCA... and ACY stops Nov. 14th (that is always seasonal though). You would think they would be decent yield markets (especially BOS and DCA)

Quoting MAH4546 (Reply 4): Really? So ATL-LAS, BOS-MYR, ATL-MCO, and FLL-LIM can't stick around?
The fact that they've carved out a nice little niche for themselves here @ ATL is a bit surprising, especially competing against DL and FL.
On a side note, I noticed that US/HP is about to add another ATL-LAS nonstop as well (I was perusing some flight options for a trip to LAS in April, and two nonstop flights were available where in the past there was only one.), so there's obvious enough demand for four airlines.

I was surprised by that, too. I thought Dallas would be where they were more successful, but it was the complete opposite. They've done great at Atlanta. I believe during peak winter last year, FLL-ATL had three dailies.

I wouldn't be surprised if it comes back. I know for a couple of years (mainly the few years prior to the 73Gs joining the fleet), FL used to bring in Miami Air or TransMerdian in to give some addition uplift on the ATL-FLL-ATL during the peak winter season.
