I'm having a blonde day so forgive this question.. but which model does 77W relate to??
The reason I ask is that I'm looking at flying with EK next year, and the aircraft type for the whole journey SYD-LON and Back is 77W... I just want to know If I am going to get the nice new product or the crap in the 772 they call business class....

You'll have the 777-300ER on all legs apart from possibly the LHR leg if you are flying from there - they more often use the 773A there, and sometimes the A332 on the very early morning flights ex-LHR. I believe LGW is always the 77W, although i've seen the A332 do the early mornings there too.
Go Etihad. Their C Class (Pearl) is so vastly superior to EK's it is untrue. A340-600 ex-LHR and A340-500 ex AUH-SYD. Quieter, more pleasant, and much better seat. I find AUH a much more pleasant place to transit as well.
I understand their 772s are identical to the 77Ws in terms of product apart from the mood lighting - I am 99% sure they've been upgraded. The 773As and A332s are not though and arent even lie-flat in C which is quite surprising.
Seriously though - why subject yourself to it when you can experience the second best C Class product I've ever seen/tried on EY (QR's A346 is a whisker better purely because of the service and the Lounge at DOH and for no other reason) - and you get to fly A340NG. Sleep in comfortable silence compared to the harsh grating of the Triple seven.
For the money you are paying you want the best and since QR dont fly there (yet) - give EY a go. I bet they are cheaper as well.
