The P.S. and ETOPS subfleets, which is roughly one third of their 97 757's.

they are reducing the amount of 1st class seats and adding more coach on non-premium 757's

Right, but N517 is a p.s. bird.

OdiE asked about F & C seats. The new intl product as well has nothing to do with p.s.

I might be wrong, but I thought there are some improvements to p.s. F/C seats, no?

Not totally true. UA was contemplating this but in the end put the plan on indefinite hold.

Nope, no plans on improvements as of now, at least to the hard product.

So any SoCal spotters got a shot of the bird today?

First should be the A319 reconfigs. From what I understand the 757s will become F14Y176.

Again, both the A319 and B757 reconfig rumors are just that... rumors. It has been confirmed to me that this was considered, but they ultimately decided against it.

The company hasn't scrapped the plan at all, in fact the domestic density plan is still moving forward yet slower than projected due to the same division also handling the IPP.

Actually, one came in this past Friday. I'm sorry I didn't have a camera and wasn't close enough to read the reg (don't hate me please  Smile ) but it came in on 31R at JFK Friday at about 1115L.
Wish I had a camera for it, it looked great.

checkmark  Indeed similar to what I have heard.

The domestic reconfigs which were to start this winter have been pushed back due to resources being committed to the IPP. The original plan called for the A319 refit begining first, followed by the 757 reconfig.
