Here is another classic, 'shameless plug'  Wink -as I am organizing my large video VHS & video 8mm & Hi-8mm films from the last 25years, and thought I'd share this with everybody. I sure wish I had driven up to SFO more before 9/11 - and got more a/c and varieties - now the angles are tougher and less time to do it.......but here is a small view for a saturday AM for those at home relaxing and checking out what is new on the A.net forums.......!!

Enjoy,

SJC Alien

Thanks for sharing. It's great to see and hear one of these Trijets moving rather than just looking at still picture.

I've also watched the AA DC-10-10 (and its roaring) take off from LAX, and that video seems to be rather old, about twenty years, as I believe we can see a DL DC-10-10 in the background. Am I wrong ?

Cheers.

Don't you just love the "mooing" sound from the center engine as it revs up to full power?  Smile

Oceansworld..

thanks to all -

The DC-10 in the AA DC-10 video is a Mexicana Airlines jet-and filmed in 1992.

Ray:

Yes - I have other videos of L-1011's from there, were the ambient sound wasn't so bad - as that AA 763 waiting on the delay pad in this video- was drowning out the still morning air - I have more from that video - I'll post later - but I'll be gone most of today and tomorrow - stay tuned

thank you

SJC Alien

The TWA hangar with bold titles in the background is a nice touch.

Thanks for posting! . It brings back a nice memory.

My very last L-1011 flight was from SFO to JFK on TWA in 1996. It was also my one and only time in First Class on a TriStar :?)

Great great great set of posts! I have become a true fan of your art and ability to document the history of aviation so well. Being someone who has grown up in the bay area, I especially love seeing all of the sights and sounds from my childhood, such as this lovely TWA L-1011 at SFO

I look forward to your coming posts and thank you for bringing us so many great videos!

Excellent video. I remember as a kid playing 'hide and seek' with my Dad in the 707's storage containers they used to have right next to the cargo area. (Yes, this was back when family was allowed on the ramp area.)

I also used to live in San Bruno right across the 101 and the rail line from the hangar. Good memories.  Smile

I added a link to your video on my website, http://www.twahistory.com .

Thanks for all of the comments everybody - that is nice.
I've always loved the sights and sounds of the big airliners....so it's fun to share and remember the earlier days of airline travel.

LASoctoberB6 -
I can do that - but may take 3 weeks to find the video...!! plus airshow next weekend - LAS E Sunset airpark next friday - we'll be there at 12 noon hopefully - look for the ladders...or Cops out harassing us.. Wink.....I have a contact at LAS Ops and he gives me his phone number while in town, and if hassled by cops - I can usually give the cops the name and number and they back off.........
