I love the El Al 777! Finally they will get rid of the 742. I was recently on an El Al 742 and was not crazy about it. Also, I think the 777 in El Al's colors is the nicest 777 out of all of them!

I've checked out their schedules: the 777 will be flying on TLV-HKG and TLV-JFK with effect from 28 March. Haven't got any news about LHR yet, perhaps they'll start in the next season.

I have been on an EL AL 742 and 744 several years ago(JFK-TLV and back) in business class. I must say that the service was pretty good, even though the 742 cabin did look outdated compared to the actual 744 we were on that was making it's inagural scheduled flight from JFK-TLV. It is not the most beautiful 777 around, but I have seen much worse though.

Hello everyone!
As was mentioned, El Al's new 777 will fly to LAX, JFK, EWR, AMS and BKK.
The daily flight to LHR that was set to be upgraded to a 777, LY315/6, will remain operated by both 742 & 744 since the 777 doesnt have enough capacity to answer the demend for that route.

LAX and AMS will only be flown once per week, EWR twice per week, BKK three times per week and JFK will be four times a week if I remember correctly. The777Man

The latest issue of Flight International reports that EL AL is looking for additional B744's or B777 to be able to replace its B742 and B767 fleet faster and to offer more seats.
