It is part of Transstates -- and besides the obvious of lowering pilot wages -- are they doing well in regards to service?

GoJet is NOT part of Trans States. It is owned by the same owner but operates with it's own certificate. They are an 'alter ego' carrier used to allow the owner of Trans States to go around contractual restrictions with AA.

Is that how Republic/CHQ is able to get around the AA issue?

Yes. And it's why Republic/Brickyard flies the E170's for Frontier instead of Shuttle... because Shuttle flys them for UA and DEN is also a UA hub.

Interesting.......with all the info it just makes me think that yes regionals need to merge. Take some of the seats out of service, allowing carriers to demand more money, ensuring service is higher ---- is Gojet an ok carrier? Has anyone flown on them?

For someone with ZW I'd watch what I wish for if I were you... because if stuff starts getting cut its going to be the 50 seat CRJ's... not the ~70 seat operators like GoJets, Republic, and Shuttle America.

One critical difference is that Republic has one master seniority list. GoJets not only circumvented the AA contract but also the TSA pilots' contracts and seniority list. They are polar opposite in terms of work rules and wages in the regional game.

They do a fair amount of STL-ORD flying for UA and seem to do fine on that route. The service is fine, and they don't seem to be late any more or less than any other carrier. I realize that's unscientific, but it's something.
