The Argentine Presidential airplane the T-01 a modified Boeing 757-200 is to be sold by the Argentine Government. The plane has have a numbers of problems i the last period. The president-elected Christina Kirchner wants to sell it. Insted they want to buy a smaller plane like a Gulfstream or something like it.

Quoting FCKC (Reply 1): Why not acquiring an A319CJ or 737BBJ ?
A Gulfstream would be too small for a great country !
For a government that claims to be leftlist and represent the will of the poor of Argentina (which is a large portion of the population) I think downsizing TANGO-01 is best choice. It would be an insult to the poor to see the government spend dozens of millions of $$ in a large private airliner which will only be used by the ruling elite of the country.

Isn't that the same in ANY country???? Or people in Japan can jump on the 744 of the royal family and go to Guam on vacations???
The 757 was the idea of ex president Carlos Menem, wich, on a visit to Mexico was impressed by the 757 of the President of Mexico.
anyway, Mr. Kirchner uses (as you can see on the database) a Aerolineas Argentinas 747 or private jets.
