ok ok i know this topic has gone over the board many times, but nobody can hit the right what i am looking for.
Now here we go-
Many collages offer flight programs. Many are really expensive. Purdue, Denver, ect have great collages i hear. What one is good. Good means what one produces the best pilot, how many of the students get accepted into major airlines (eg Delta, US Air, American...). What one will My parents and I be able to afford. One more question. If I fly planes for say UPS, will I make as much money as a Delta pilot would. Many have said in the past, it;s not what you make but how well you like your job. Well, wrong. I need to support a family maybe, my Abercrombie and Fitch life style. But on top of that I will have to pay the world back just for going to collage for many years. Please tell me.
Airlines lines looking to fly for, including package- Delta American, UPS, Virgin, British Airways, JET BLUE, ETC,

If you're looking for an affordable university with flight program, look up north. With strong US dollar, the program offered at University of Western is a bargain even if you pay tuition charged for international students. It's situated in the middle of Detroit, Toronto and Buffalo- so your travelling options are quite good.

I am starting flight school at Southern Illinois University next fall. Total costs will be about $60,000. I hear it's a good program with alot of internships available. And I would expect to start with someone like "United Express" or some charter company........most people don't walk right out of college and into the right seat with a major carrier.

Purdue is great, but it runs about $100,000 for four years, when you count tuition, fees, room & board, flight lessons, etc. It seems like a lot, but once you get that airline job (with a major, not a regional), you will be able to pay off the loans in no time... at current pay rates, I could completely pay off my Purdue debt (the full value of the education) within 3 years of being hired at American. Until then, it's a few hundred dollars a month to make minimum monthly payments. It'll be tough, but worth it. As for hiring, the current outlook at Purdue is to go to a regional immediately upon graduation, fly an RJ for 2-3 years, then move up to a major. We have preferred hiring programs in place with several airlines (Chatauqua, American Eagle, ASA/Comair (if you do a DL internship), and others).
BTW - UPS and FedEx pay scales are similar to major passenger carriers'.
