Hello everyone:

I was sitting browsing A.net on this gloomy Friday in Michigan, thinking of when I get to head to Florida for MSU's Spring Break, and it got me wondering:

have there been any updates on the progress of the new North Terminal at DTW? Do we know who will be getting what gates so on and so fourth.

Thanks for any info

-Vendor contracts for terminal concessions have recently been awarded:

Construction Photo Update as of the end of Oct:

Basically the goal is to have the terminal enclosed by December and work throughout the winter will focus on the inside of the building. Target completion is still Fall 2008, although there are some concerns about construction delays due to labor (union trades) shortages.

After opening there will still be work to demolish the Smith terminal, concrete ramp work / site restoration, and to open the gates that adjoin Concourse C on the Smith terminal.

I spotted this in the Detroit Free Press this morning. It is more of a guide to DTW however it has a section on the new north terminal.

It looked great when i was up there for training in late august. I always fly NW, but when this new North terminal opens i'll probably ID90 on someone else so I can take a peek at the new terminal.

It says a Hockeytown Cafe will open in the new terminal. That is pretty cool. It looks as though it is shaping up to be quite nice. I am flying out on Spirit in March of 08, and am not looking forward to the terminal, but have not flown Spirit, so I am excited about that.

I wouldn't be excited.. Spirit pretty much blows. Seats suck, no pop or anything on board without paying, have to pay to check bags.... I wouldn't fly them.

I am only excited as it is something new, I didn't want to though. I wanted to fly Allegiant, but I didn't book the tickets.
