Hey..

Just wondering seeing as i can't find any information online what type of aircraft CX normally use on Flights 256, 253 (LHR-HKG-LHR).. I'm flying with them in Febuary and the CX website said 34C for the outbound flight.. i.e. A340-300 and EQV for the return flight.. I.e. Equipment varies... Call me a nerd but what type of aircraft may it be? 346, 343, 744, 77W??

Also the new economy product on CX doesn't look to be that nice... Like an office chair in the sky! Anyone know when these should be installed on different aircraft?

256/253 are either operated by the 3 class A340s or the A346 types depends on the day of the week

Not 100% but CX do seem to be using the 346 on the 253 more often than usual, so I would imagine it will be a 346.

Sounds great! Lets hope its a 346... The only longhaul aircraft i've been on is a 744... LHR-SIN-LHR.

But i can tell you i am leaving on a Saturday and coming back on a Saturday... if that makes any difference  Smile

We usually operate the A340-300 and the spare A340-600 (thats not flying new york) on this flight.
Despite the new direct Toronto service utilising the A346's initially, I think they will still have the third A346 lying around operating the LHR route.

Can't really come to a conclusion, except you are definitely flying on an A340, as to which type is anyones guess at the moment, though it will definitely be with the the old Y/J/F classes.

Thanks a lot for that  Smile.. Is there any chance the 77W could be utilised for this route?? I know CX received their first one recently.

The spare 346 should be doing direct Toronto (CX826/827) at that stage. London will be either a 744 or 340.

No, I think this is unlikely. The 77W are for the 3rd daily JFK flights and I think others will be sent to North America as well.

It will be a while before we see the 777s in Europe.

That's a pity  Sad Oh well i've never been on a long haul Airbus... So i can experience that!

I'm crossing my fingers for an 346 but i guess its more likely to be a 343 or 744 if it says EQV... but maybe i'll be lucky  Wink Should i send a bribe to CX ops?? hehe
