This morning while waiting for my friends to arrive on AA 963, a DL 767 came in as if to land. The plane came close then took back off again. Taking back off, the plane veered right and then came back from the other direction. About 15 minutes later the plane landed safely. The landing gear was down. Does anyone have any information? Was the pilot having having the control tower check his gear?

If there is one thing you can guarantee that it wasn't: it wasn't pilot training. You don't do any training in the aircraft any more-- too expensive. Go arounds are practiced in the sim.
