A few quick questions about DUS :

1. Does it have free wi-fi within the terminal?
2. Are there any pay to use lounges?
3. Is there anything of interest in the surrounding area?

Thanks!

Quoting SeansasLCY (Thread starter):

Wi-Fi is available in the whole terminal, but I am not sure if it is for free or if you have to pay for using it.

You can enter the Hugo Junkers Lounge in concourse B for 16 EUR.

You can reach downtown Dusseldorf by regional train within a few minutes. There are a few restaurants with their own brewery in Dusseldorf's old town, there you should try a glass of freshly brewed Altbier (I can recommend Fuechschen).

The fare to Dusseldorf downtown and back is 4.20 EUR, just buy two "Preisstufe A" tickets from the automats in the train station.

There is an information desk opposite from the "Cafe B2B" right in the middle of the terminal on the departure level. But I am sure that every bar/restaurant waiter also knows how to access the airport Wi-Fi hotspot.

I was in DUS last year for a weekend, fantastic city, the Median Harbour area is worth a look, the tram from outside the HauptBahnHof will take you there. And the old town is worth a look with its small streets and many bars!

Also DUS airport has a fantastic rooftop viewing deck with great views over the whole airport, a few euros entrance fee if i remember correctly.

The Germans really know how to do it when it comes to transport!!
