Anyone know the age of this 737-200, XA-TYI? It may be an ex-USAir or Air New Zealand aircraft.

The aircraft first flew on June 6th, 1982 and was delivered to Piedmont Airlines (01 customer number). But it later became a member of USAir following the merger with PI.

The aircraft is with Aviacsa since December 10th, 2003.

Hi Braybuddy, this aircraft was originally delivered to Piedmont (it's a -201) in June '82 as N796N; it went on to US Air, as you mentioned, then ultimately to AVIACSA, in 2003, so it's 25 years - and not looking bad at all!

If you were to ask Aloha if a 732 made in 1982 would be a brand new 732!!

...And your point is..... ?? I think all airlines, when they get new-fresh aircraft from the manufacturer, they would say the same thing. Pot, Kettle....and oh yeah...black.  sarcastic
