This afternoon, a CO 777-200 diverted here due to weather in Houston. The flight was Continental 5 - I didn't believe what I saw on flighttracker until I went to the airport and got a first hand view of that beauty land on 23L. The flight continued on to IAH at 4:20. This is VERY rare - the first time this aircraft has made a landing here and probley the last for a couple years until the runway expansion plan is made a reality.

Actually, this is at least the THIRD visit that the CO 777 has made to CLE. Also, UA has brought 777s into CLE which is a designated diversion airport for ORD.
The NRT-EWR flight has diverted to CLE due to w/x at EWR and the outbound EWR-NRT flight has also come into CLE with a medical emergency.

Back in 1993, I was at CLE, waiting to board a much delayed CO flight to LGA which was eventually cancelled
because of thick fog at CLE. A CO 747-100 landed there
and taxied to gate C3. It was on a diversion from a LGW
to IAH flight.
