Tap Portugal will today receive its first factory new A330-200, powered by GE, and according to a Portuguese newspaper, Tap will also convert its A350 order into the A350XWB. The article only mentions 10 frames, but from what I'm aware the confirmation will be increased to 12 frames

Despite the long wait, I think that its an excellent occasion to announce Taps commitment to the A350 program.

Fantastic. The A350 is a superhit.
I believe that the A350 can top the B787 before it enters service, but it still has a long way to go.

Tap will receive 5 ''new'' A332's from Airbus. They also have two option, although since Tap managed to acquire 7 secondhand A332's, I have some doubt if they will be firming them up.

How many A330s will TAP now have? I wonder if they could open another route to Brazil, or South America. I've heard loads of good things about TAP from passengers!

They will have 4 more to come, these 5 A330-200's are to replace in a one-by-one basis the A310-300's that TP had. I think the numbers of the A350 are not correct...if the A350 is going to be the sole model for long-haul routes, and if at this moment have 7 + 5 A330-200's + 4 A340-300's at least they should have the same number!!! But I've seen some confusion on TP A350 numbers since the beginning!!!

I cant see any mad rush to get orders for the A350 as it is still six years away from EIS.

If airlines don't get in the queue now, they'll have to wait even longer.

Well... according to this we have another A380 customer  Wink What a typo can do... (the header is correct, though)

Quote:
Airbus said on Monday Portugal's TAP [TAPA.UL] was ordering up to 15 A350XWB and eight additional A380 aircraft.

The airline placed a firm order for 12 A350WB with options for three more, converting an earlier order for A350 planes into the extra-wide body variant.

Airbus, a unit of EADS (EAD.PA: Quote, Profile , Research), now has 288 orders for the new A350XWB.

http://investing.reuters.co.uk/news/...PAC008963_RTRIDST_0_AIRBUS-TAP.XML

That only leaves Bangkok Airways, Eurofly and Air Europa to reconfirm their A350 orders.

Now reported on EADS website:
http://www.eads.com/1024/en/pressdb/...71126_airbus_tap_a350xwb_a320.html

The A350s are firm, while the A320s are a LOI.

Hi!

Well I think since TP is getting brand new A330-200's they will get brand new seats too. I've seen some pictures from the interiors of the new A330-200, CS-TOL, and they look very nice indeed. What I seriously think is that maybe in the future TP will upgrade the seats of their used A330-200's and maybe the A340's too.

So are the seats different / better than the A340 seats? How so? Are they still angled lie-flat seats?

Hey ManchesterMAN, the plane is just flying to LIS!!! Unless you have someone in Airbus that can help you, you need us here in Portugal to know how this A330-200's is coming with! Wait a few days and someone here will certainly help you!

From what I'm aware Tap will have the following Business Class Seats, on their new A330-200's. These seats will most likely be introduced in the future across its A330-200 and A340-300 fleet.

Tap currently offer the following on their A310-300 and A340-300 fleet.
