In late 1966 I believe Pacific Airlines (PC) flew the 727-100 until they could take delivery of 6 737s. When discussions began with West Coast and Bonanza, both DC9 users, on what would become Air West this order was cancelled. It's mentioned on a couple of web sites that Boeing already had them painted and on the ready line before they were bought by Air California. I have never seen any photographs of these planes in the PC livery although I did fly on one that Pacific Western (Western Pacific?) had while in Canada. It had the PC wall decorations.

Can anyone search the Boeing archives or get me an address at Boeing who could help me. They have got to be

There's at least one Pacific Air Lines 727 photo right here at Airliners.net. At least three survived to operate for Air West, with N2969G, N2979G and N898PC staying with Air West until April 1970.

Try this link for a complete fleet orders list for Pacific Airlines. No photos, but a simple reference guide.

It the 737 photos I'm looking for that never were delivered to PC. Probabl only available to a Boeing employee.

Thanks Flagship for reminding me that they were -200 series. I'd thought they might have been -100s as they were assumed to have been some of the first off the line.
