The airport is located in a very urban-like environment. I like it because of all the great spots to take pictures and look at operations. Plus most of the aircraft that flew there were widebodies, and of those, mostly 747s. I got to sit in the cockpit of a Cathay 744 for the landing to 13 at night. Very nice. Clear skies, and very smooth landing! Seeing those big aircraft make that turn to final is absoultly amazing!!! Plus, the winds add to intensity, and really make the pilots earn their salary! If you need more, just ask. Hope this helps.

personally, i love Kaitak very much,
since it was my home airport.
my first flight is there,
my home is at the other side of the Victoria Harbour, quite near the takeoff and landing route,
althought i can't see Kaitak from my home, i can still hear those great noise from aircraft everyday, everynight,
from morning, to nearly midnight.
when i go to the park down my home next to the shore, i can always see those nice ironbird takeoff/ landing, and identifly those airline logo, i love this very much!!
sadly i just taken 2 or 3 checkerboard landing only and i didn't had a chance taking CX landing at runway 13.
no matter what airline. All passengers jsut can't stop themselves clapping after the plane landed safety after that huge turn above those houses in kowlooncity! !
they all scared of that turn!
i love Kaitak FOREVER! so i choose my project topic about kaitak again and again last year and this year!

plane spotters?? any special happened beside those China Airline miss approachs ? um... ever had CX/KA did such a dangerous landing? ( well.. as a fans of CX.. hope not..)
