Lufthansa To Expand Private Jet Fleet

Lufthansa has decided to cease their agreement with NetJets Europe in February 2008 and establish their own Private Jet Fleet tp be called Lufthansa Private Jet.

Citing robust demand increases in 2007 and continued intra-European growth LPJ will order new frames for delivery in 2008 and expect to have their fleet in place by Spring 2008.

Obviously they are doing quite well and Swiss will be involved too.

So which frames will we see ordered? Will they convert any Airbus NBs currently on order to ACJs?

How many frames do they intend to operate and how many types?

What about the Legacy? I don't know if it was C9 or X3 who operates some, but there is I believe a German airline that operates such executive flights on the Legacy.

Any idea if it will be aircraft in the size of the A319 ACJ, A318 Elite or Boeing BBJ ? If they buy smaller jets the Bombardier Challenger and Global Express would make the most sense because LH already operates a large CRJ fleet.

I would love to see a Boeing Business Jet in LH livery with these nice winglets Smile

It will forever be a McDonnell Douglas MD 80 , Boeing MD 80 sounds so wrong

In order to give a better clue regarding the aircraft to be ordered:

The idea behind LH Private Jet is to take pax to/from small European airports that LH doesn't serve, and get them on the longhaul flights (pax may also chose LPJ because short-haul business class in Europe is nothing to write home about). As a result, no longhaul aircraft are needed, and the groups that use the service are fairly small. Reply 2 provides the answer.

Unless they completely change their business model, that is!
