At last, it looks like India is opening up to more flights, as the demands of the business community requiring better and cheaper service now outweigh the interests of the AI licence raj.
This summer, TG will start service BKK-BOM, MH KUL-HYD, UA restart HKG-DEL-LHR flights and CX will start HKG-DEL.
Not good news for AI though, but good news for all travellers to and from this great country!

Where did you hear about these new Thai and Cathay Pacific services from?
I knew Thai had been planning to fyl the Mumbai-Bangkok route for a while now, but nothing seemed to be done about it.
