We are all familliar with the high quality of A.net. The photo's are first class, the discussion forums are superb and the database contains over 130 000 pictures.

Are there any other sites that can even get close to airliners.net when it comes to civil aviation pictures?

Regards
Thom@s

No.

Although, I have seen a few websites with 1,000+ photos that, to say mildly, were "inspired" by the design of Airliners.net.

No imitation comes close to the original - Airliners.net!

There are a couple of Russian aviation sites which I am very impressed with, mainly because they are 100% Russian aircraft.

But I won't give the links here, because it is against the rules to "advertise"

Cheers

Why, aren't these links free, so there is no commercial advertisement?  Smile Isn't one of them http://www.bird.ch/Russians?

But then again... it doesn't get even close to competition with this site...! This site has it all... from forums, to 100,000 pixz, and chat areas... what else can come even close! NOTHING!

Airliners.net is the largest civil aviation site on the web. The 2nd largest has only 4 thousand photos in the database. That's nothing compared to the 130 thousand airliners.net has. This is the largest, and greatest civil aviation site!

I spent the better part of a year looking for an aviation site. This was the only one that hasn't got old. This has to be the be the best in the world.
