Quote: PARIS -(Dow Jones)- Finland's Finnair has placed a firm order with Airbus for an additional A330-300 long-range aircraft for delivery in spring 2009, European aircraft maker Airbus said Wednesday.
Airbus is a unit of European Aeronautics Defence and Space NV Co (5730.FR).
This new order brings the total number of Finnair's Airbus wide-body aircraft to 22, including seven A330-300s, four A340-300s and eleven A350 XWB. Airbus said they are contributing to the modernization of Finnair's long-haul fleet and are helping them meet their expansion plans.
The press release confirms Finnair's previous option to convert their A343's into the A333. This also means that Airbus can now include 7 more orders for the A333 series and deduct 6 from the A343
