A 3.3 million dollar air traffic control system was set up at Kabul airport on Monday, opening Afghan airspace to more inter-continental flights.The new system,the most advanced in the region, will raise the number of foreign airlines flying over Afghanistan the most direct route between Asia and Europe.The Vsat technology has also been installed in the cities of Kandahar,Jalalabad,Herat and Mazar-e-Sharif.Engineers at Kabu's new traffic control office said they talked with Russian,French,Dutch and UN aircraft an hour after the system was installed Smile
