i think this is a fantastic channel, it has improved massively, showing more programmes with civil aircraft, there is a documentary running about production of the 777 from the design phase to first delivery. i think its a great programme and the channel really is one of the best on sky! (sky digital in uk, dont know about rest of world)

Yes, one of the main reasons why I got DishNetwork rather than DirectTV was b/c of Discovery Wings.

..still alot of repeats on it...but overall this channel is great. I leave it on when I'm doing something else; then whenever I look over occasionally. its non-stop hang-gliders, 707s, Gulf War fighters, bimps etc...

Wish my cable company would carry it, I guess I'll have to tell them that if they don't I'll change to satelite. Anybody else who can't get it should do the same maybe the cable companies who don't carry it will change their minds.

To further emphasize the point made by Vngd4me right before this, if you can convince your cable company to get it, then DWings will make more money, and improve their programming even further. I think it is a great channel, with nowhere to go but up. I love their civil aircraft shows, as well as the UK show, airport.

Agree folks, but Discovery is good, not great. I remember, way back when, they ran up six consecutive hours of planes. Suspect, though, that this was too much for our wives, so now they've added crocs, chimpanzees, and Baldrick aka archaelogist.
Not even the wife is interested....

Is this part of the Discovery Channel? Or an off shoot? I know it sounds like a stupid question, but just wondering. If it isn't what cable operators carry it?

I've been an avid DW watcher, and it has truly, truly enriched my life. Where else would I have learned about the Aero-Bed-In-A-Minute, "Children's favorites" CD set, and "D-Snore" anti-snoring spray (Pitched by Bernie Koppel). The best part is, in order to make sure I never forget the valuable information about these fine products, Discovery Wings repeats the commercials for these products during EACH of their extra-frequent, double-length advertising breaks. I went to the bathroom toward the end of one of the breaks, and missed five minutes of programming on Heathrow airport, but it was probably just a fluff piece. -Mark

KLMBlue; No question is stupid if you don't know the answer. DiscoveryWings is indeed one of several offshoots of the primary Discovery Channel. Others include DiscoveryKids and DicoveryScience.

I enjoy the Flight Deck programme on it. That program about the 777 being built was also on channel 4 in the UK a few years ago. That's good also.

I think it's a really interesting channel but in my opinion they need more programs that feature civil aircraft.

I like 'Flight Deck' too, although they always seem to show the same 3 (SAS DC-9, Air UK Leisure B737 & Business Air BAe-146). What others have you seen?
