I got some good information about FL from their conference call.

-Due to ATC congestions; their average speed has decreased about 30mph

-Apparently the 732s are planned to be retired later in the second half of 2001.

-They are doing better than expected in the PIT and FPO market.

-They are trying to get their own gates at PHL and LGA/EWR.

-New growth is expected to be 50/50 from ATL and new markets.

-Joe Leonard wants 100+ slots at DCA to start a new hub there.

And now the future of the 717. They can take up to 6 more 712s a year than they currently get delivered(from 12 to 18). The TW aircraft have the same engines as they have, and they are thinking of accelerating the retirement of their DC9s. This could effectively keep the 717 program going even if AA cancels the order.

What about MDW-MSP service? Will this continue? Or has FL finally realized that they're better off with ATL-MSP direct?

I'll be very suprised if FL gets the 100+ at DCA CO
said it would pay over $200 million for the DCA slots
