NBC 4 just had breaking news before the NBC Nightly news stating that a plane bound for CMH with 140 people on board, was going to land w/o landing gear! Don't know anything else!

According to NBC's website, it's a DL flight from CMH bound for ATL. It's circling before returning to CMH.

Bad day for Delta: another plane had a pressurization problem and had to divert to PHL (Flt. 599, EWR-ATL)

Looks like it was some kind of hydraulic issue. Aircraft is being towed off now, or was just in the last few minutes...

Looks like the nose gear was fine, contrary to the thread title and "reporting" of NBC4. Here are some more details: http://10tv.com/?sec=&story=sites/10...ontent/pool/200712/1225507884.html

Don't know about this "alert three" stuff, www.flightaware.com shows planes were departing and arriving as usual while this guy was circling.

It's funny when I tell people I love planes and they think I'm weird.

The article talks about the rapid decent and everyone panicing. I really think they should add a blurb about the potential rapid decent in the safety demo. only those of us who know alot about flyiung would know that if the oxygen masks fall then a very fast and steep decent will follow

And the troubles continue... DL1491 CMH-LAX seems to be diverted to IND. Anyone know why?

DL1491 appears to have diverted due to a medical emergency.

The incident with 938 was a birdstrike. There was smoke in the cabin and the aircraft circled around until it burned off enough fuel to return. It was originally thought that there was a tire blow on take off and that it was pieces of tire that were sucked into the engine. That's why the news is reporting an issue with the landing gear. The flight was full, there was 140 people on it, all of them were booked for tomorrow. The plane was towed over to the gate and the fire trucks followed. They're expecting the aircraft to be fixed tomorrow because it's operating an extra section to ATL tomorrow morning at 8:00am as DL9886. The plane is currently parked at gate C56.

From the depressurization article that was mentioned above...

In his email Calzada said that passengers were told that there "was some form of autopilot failure causing further failure with the cabin pressurization system."

How are the 2 systems related?????
