The article talks about the rapid decent and everyone panicing. I really think they should add a blurb about the potential rapid decent in the safety demo. only those of us who know alot about flyiung would know that if the oxygen masks fall then a very fast and steep decent will follow
Experience is what you get when what you thought would work out didn't!

The incident with 938 was a birdstrike. There was smoke in the cabin and the aircraft circled around until it burned off enough fuel to return. It was originally thought that there was a tire blow on take off and that it was pieces of tire that were sucked into the engine. That's why the news is reporting an issue with the landing gear. The flight was full, there was 140 people on it, all of them were booked for tomorrow. The plane was towed over to the gate and the fire trucks followed. They're expecting the aircraft to be fixed tomorrow because it's operating an extra section to ATL tomorrow morning at 8:00am as DL9886. The plane is currently parked at gate C56.
