I would like to know who will operate former Malaysia 744 Combi 9M-MHM, now registered N73714, stored for 4 years and currently undergoing freighter conversion at Xiamen.
Any info?

It's now up in the air. That airplane and another Malaysian air combi were supposed to go to Cargo 360 as part of their fleet expansion for 2008. Subsequent to the merger between Southern Air and Cargo 360, Southern Air has decided to not take delivery of either aircraft.

Hi NA,

I was under the impression that they were destined for the Air Atlanta group and they were then to be leased out.

If it's any help I have these regos as assigned to these a/c: N73714 future TF-AML and N73713 as future TF-AMM. I still can't believe these aircraft have been left sitting idle for some many years!

Does anyone have a list of future BCF conversions and aircraft involved?

The only ones I have a list of are:
JA8915 for JAL Cargo
9V-SMY for KA as B-KAI
F-GISF for AF Cargo ex TF-AMP/JA8904
B-HKW-???? for CX unknown SQ frame
PH-MPS-for Martinair ex AI VT-AIF/9V-SMF.

I sure there must be others.....

Also the 2 SQ B744's that are leased to FJ as DQ-FJK and -FJL ex 9V-SMB and SMD the last time I heard were due to be returned to SQ for BCF conversion and onward delivery.

Hi Tom,

F-GISF is already flying as a BCF. I have seen it in HKG and there is a photo on JP of it. There are still rumours that B-HOY will be leaving the CX passenger fleet soon to join the cargo fleet. Last word was that it was due to leave last month but as B-HKV was delayed they kept it longer. B-HKV has now been delivered, but B-HOY is still flying. I have also heard that HOY will be repainted and reconfigured into the new cabin soon. The list I have shows B-HOZ as leaving the fleet, so who knows!!

Hi CX flyboy,

Anymore future additional conversions that your aware of? I was under the impression the waiting list for BCF conversions was a mile long!

Cheers for that info..

Thanks for all your info. I am happy these two former MAS aircraft have found a new home with Air Atlanta. No 744 ever was stored so long as these two aircraft. Very unusual.

A minor correction.. B-HOY will not be converted to a BCF.

Next CX passenger to BCF will be B-HOZ
