Question Regarding BAA Strike 7th Of January

Hi, I've a question:

A friend of mine has a flight on the 7th of January from LGW to PHL on US. If this strike is coming up (BAA just announced it for 7th and 14th for each 24 hours), what shall my friend do? Reconfirm, or just wait? And in general, who is in charge of that? The airline, or the BAA?

BAA have nothing to do with airline booking.... Always confirm the flight...... If any strike is called off last minute if you have not confirmed your seat your seat could be lost......... If the strike goes ahead the airline would accomadate the pax on next available flight. If the strike goes ahead flight EX the uk aviation industry will come to a standstill!!!

If they want to be sure to leave the UK on the 7th. USairways operate a daily flight from MAN to PHL. MAN airport is not a BAA airport and will not be affected by the strike. Ask US if u can swap departure airports as they are worried about the possible cancellation of the LGW service
