Wonder where they will be based. If DL puts them on SLC-PHX runs, they might win back my business. But figuring they will probably be based at JFK to supplement routes in the NE, i guess i'll just have to stay with star alliance.

How many F/C seats and Coach does -175 have compared to E-170's with Delta/United? I know US has 88 coach seats in their E-175 as they dontn put F/C in there regional jets (stupid move).
Great news for Embraer, and great news for Republic too. I just flew with them this week from IND to LGA, but this was under US Airways Express. Great little airline..

These planes are some directly replacing the 170's S5 flies for Delta. And yes, they WILL have F/C seating. The configuration is going to be 12F/64Y compared to the 170's 6F/64Y and you'll most likely see them still doing the majority of the flying out of ATL just like the 170s do now. Maybe not to some of the markets they currently serve however - but who knows. Shuttle's crew bases are still IND/CMH/ATL/ORD although ORD doesn't really do DL flying. (PIT is a RW base, not S5)

I think that the 170's being replaced will be moving over to UA, IIRC. We have picked up an additional E70 to AUS now, eliminating (at least sometimes) a Mesa flight. I don't think UA is real happy with them right now...
On a different note, as a ramper, I prefer the CR7. The E-jet pits are horrible! As a flyer, however, the E-jets even beat out the mainline product in a lot of cases (economy anyways).

I know they did IND-JFK for one month in 2005 ....
I think you'll be more likely to see a CR7 or CR9 on this route first if it were to be upgauged in equipment. The E70's don't even fly in/out of JFK for DL anymore. Rumor has it that they will be trying to get approval for overwater flying and come equipped for it (think more Carribbean). If that's true, I don't know, but I'm sure we'll find out soon.
