I recently posted a thread on the cancellation of LH service to MNL after 25 years. It is a shame that KLM will be the only carrier that is serving the Europe-Philippines market. All other service is by Middle East or third-country carriers and requires a stop and change of aircraft. My question/proposal is this: Can LH and PR do a pooling arrangement to do a MNL-FRA nonstop with a 343? I think the two carriers can use their marketing systems to sell a non-stop flight that can compete with the Middle Eastern carriers. LH can still have a MNL presence and PR can finally return to Europe.

The minute PR frees up an A343, there'd be a far better chance seeing it in SAN or SEA or even ORD before it would touch Europe for scheduled commercial flights.

Quoting Eta unknown (Reply 1): But how many KLM pax are flying beyond AMS- 95%? That then becomes a change of aircraft too.
I believe the point of the thread is to offer a nonstop flight to Europe or at least one where there are no aircraft change... regardless of final destination in Europe.

Thanks Qazar- my point exactly. I believe that air services between nations provide benefits that are sometimes difficult to quantify. I just feel that with there is much lost between European-Philippine economic and cultural links with air services largely provided by third country carriers. Not only is it more complicated to fly and connect in Singapore or Doha, both the Philippines and European countries "visibilty" are diminished with no direct air service.
