I received another one of my low-fare offer emails from Spirit and find their MO'ASS marketing scheme very brave.. but anywho, I was flipping through the schedules.. and noticed

NK 914 RSW 1:45am DTW 4:40am ... Its apparently bookable 12/26-12/31... disappears after the first of the year.. I'm hoping this is just a typo... I know jetBlue does runs FLL-JFK and back in the winter sometimes that leave around midnight... but 1:45am?. Are they really going to pay TSA To Stand Around until 2am these 5 days.. I swear, Spirit just gets crazier and crazier by the day..

OK, off the soapbox now..

Merry Christmas BTW,

You only live once... So live the high life.

I guess if the demand is there, why not?

TSA may be there anyway, if there are late arrivals into RSW

My guess is they are running odd times, because traffic is a lot lighter, and people can guarentee that they will make it home on these flights since they won't have to wait for EDCT times or as much other stuff by way of delays. I'm guessing they are only running it to get people home from place to place because of the holiday.

Hey Obama, keep the change! I want my dollar back.

So when an airline runs a really awkward flight time like this... who pays the cost for the TSA folks. Does the airline pony up or does the Port Authority eat it. Does the Port Authority encourage flights like this... where it's a random flight at an awkward time?
