Rumor from an airport official is that the B6 counter space and gates have been spoken for already...any ideas??

FL---ATL/BWI/MCO?

F9--DEN/?/?

or perhaps YX is moving closer to their gates and for a more accessable bagroom location?

Doubt it, they fly into CAK that is kind of close by. But you never know.

Thats like saying MSN and ORD are close by. Thats a good distance to travel (drive)if you want to fly non-stop to Denver on F9.
CAK-CMH: 86.1 NM
MSN-ORD: 94.1 NM

The fact that F9 flies to DAY is more relevant, and is the likely reason why it's not Frontier.

It's probably just a move. I doubt FL is going to jump into such a competetive market. There's better low hanging fruit to pick elsewhere.

IIRC, isn't the B6 counter space near DL's area? Could the "spoken for" just mean that DL is expanding their counterspace. They do have a fairly sizable operation there, especially considering the proximity to CVG.

I'd be hard pressed to think that it's FL or F9, as both currently fly from DAY, but that doesn't mean all that much if CMH can fill the seats.

From what I the rumor I heard, its just YX moving closer to their gates and bagroom. Too bad, it was nice having an entire bagroom to ourselves.

Are there any other new airlines looking at CMH at this point?

Right around the corner in the same stretch of counter space. Former WN ticket counter.

I was totally surprised to see two YX CRJs sitting at C48 & 49 last night after our flight had landed. When did that happen?

They fly into DAY as well, which is even closer to CMH than CAK.

AirTran service to CMH would be nice.

I wonder how many people who fly AirTran out of Dayton actually live near CMH? It's by-far the cheapest ticket to Atlanta.

When did that happen?

Around early December I do believe. I remember flying out of concourse B after Thanksgiving and seeing YX and then when I came back Dec. 13 they were gone to C.

What, is YX gonna build another concourse for themselves in another 2 years just to move again? Last five years, YX has spent time in all three concourses. The trifecta!

It's funny when I tell people I love planes and they think I'm weird.

They are number 1 a DAY to boot. They are focuse on building DAY into something special like a mini focus city. I doubt they will go into CMH becuase of that.....

By "they", I was refering to Frontier (F9), not FL. My mistake in not putting more space in there or clarifying it. But I didn't know FL was number 1 at DAY. I take it they surpassed DL then- not that I'm overly surprised, but when did that happen?

Right you are. Why any new airline would consider even attempting CMH now is beyond me.

RIght you are. The airport moved Midwest into C because Skybus needed more space. Skybus currently uses the jetways at B16 and B20 for 2 of their 7 morning departures. The gates remain unused for the remainder of the day.

I know, and their employees and customers are getting sick of it too. But anything for the almighty Skybus, I guess...

Ugh. Any bets as to how long before they're converted to ground-level like the rest of Skybus' gates?

Which gates is YX operating out of now?

C48 & C49, the ex-DL gates at the east end of C.
