BR Retrofit B747-400, Which Routes?

I'm flying to BKK in March and am sad to see that Eva Air have taken their 777-300ER off the route and replaced it with the 747-400. I was wondering whether these 747's have been fitted with the new cabins and IFE system? Does anyone know how many aircraft have been retrofitted? Finally...if the retrofitted aircraft are used on the LHR-BKK route, are all flights operated by them or only some? I appreciate that no aircraft type is guaranteed on a particular flight.

I've done a search for this question but never found the answer so my apologies if it has been covered.

Many thanks

I believe that the newly reconfigured Boeing 747-400s are used on the London routes...

The 747-400 combi with the older generation (and very uncomfortable) business class seats are only used on SFO route.

Of course last minute aircraft change can happen...

It'll only be for TPE-BKK-LHR, the rest will all be 773s by the summer.

Check www.evaair.com.tw

They have the full schedule and you can find the flight numbers for the LHR flights... and book that for your BKK flights...

But I believe EVA Air uses mostly 77Ws and the newly configured 747-400s on this heavily traveled routes anyway.

Also if it is a Boeing 747-400 (not the Boeing 747-400 Combi) you will be fine... I believe the three full passenger version 747s have already been reconfigured...

Be glad you're on the 744 if you get it. From an enthusiast standpoint... They seem to be getting rid of them. I love "little island across from the 800-lb gorilla" Taiwan!

oh boy!!!

Thanks for all the information, looks like we might be flying with them.

I flew on their 777-300ER when they first used them on the LHR-BKK-TPE route and loved it, my first time on that particular type. I know the 744 is disappearing and it's an amazing aircraft, it's just nice to go on newer aircraft at times.
